Our Family

Dr Hannah Burn

B. Med. (UON), FRACGP

Dr Hannah Burn has always enjoyed helping people, and the science of medicine. She decided to combine the two, graduating from medicine at the University of Newcastle in 2010. During her degree, she undertook specialist training in general medicine, medical oncology, colorectal surgery, psychiatry and emergency care.

Raised in Sydney, she has lived in greater New South Wales since she was 17 years old – first while studying, and then while working throughout the Central Coast, Wollongong and Tamworth. Hannah started work with her grandfather, Dr Ray Burn, under the Rural Doctor’s Network in 2012. She has steadily built a diverse and vibrant patient base through the Old Linton Medical Practice. Hannah completed her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2021.

Known as “Dr Hannah” to many of her patients, Hannah is now focusing on ongoing clinical work, building the Practice, and the education of medical students. Always happiest when learning something new, Hannah is also completing a degree in psychotherapy. Outside of work, she loves spending time with family (pets and all), friends, and perfecting her homemade French patisserie.

Dr Vasanth Bajpe

MBBS., M. Psychthpy (NSW)

M. Psychthpy (ANZAP)

FASPM

Dr Vasanth Bajpe has had many years of general practice experience. Initially based in Sydney, Vasanth has become well-known in the Yass Valley. He served the local community of Murrumbateman for just under eight years before joining Old Linton Medical Practice.

Vasanth is well-regarded for his thorough and compassionate approach, and has a special interest in psychotherapy, with a Masters in the field. He is also experienced in preventative health and chronic disease management.

Dr Anjum Musa

MBBS, MS ENT

Dr Anjum Musa is the newest member of our family. A dedicated and compassionate physician, she believes in open communication, and taking a patient-centred approach. She has extensive experience in general medicine, and her special interests include chronic disease management, ear nose and throat conditions, children's health and women's health.

Dr Anjum decided to study medicine out of a passion for the field, and with the hope to help people improve their health and wellbeing. She was also inspired by her eldest sister, a practicing Doctor herself. Having excelled in her studies abroad, Dr Anjum has a diversity of experience and is dedicated to continuous learning and updating her skills regularly.

Newly arrived to Canberra from Sydney, Dr Anjum is excited to begin a new chapter with Old Linton Medical Practice. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking and spending time with her family.

Our Founders

Dr Ray Burn and Dr Ann Daniel

Dr Ray Burn and Dr Ann Daniel had been inseparable for 47 years. They moved to the Yass Valley over two decades ago and founded the Old Linton Medical Practice, where Ray became one of the best-known medical practitioners in the region. After her decorated academic career in the field of sociology, Ann decided to pursue a different path; she began a fine wool farming venture at Toombah Park, and obtained her wool-classing certificate shortly afterward. She continues to run both fine wool sheep and beef cattle, in addition to managing a number of farming operations. Ann has been previously elected to local council, and is passionate about all things Yass Valley. Most recently, Ann has just bottled her first vintage, a young sangiovese, grown at Cockatoo Hill under Gounyan Wines (another venture co-founded by Ann and Ray).

Ray passed away in 2023, after working in medicine for 40 years. He is survived by Ann, his six children, ten step-children, and innumerable grandchildren. Ray was known for bringing warmth, honesty and humour to every consultation, and is dearly missed by his family and community. You can read a little more about Ray’s life and legacy by clicking here

Rachel

Since starting as Practice Manager in 2022, Rachel has been dedicated to modernising the Practice. She is always looking out for the best interests of our patients, and seeking out opportunities to bring specialist medical services into Yass. With experience in Medical Administration, Nursing, Information Technology and Digital Media, her diverse skill set has made her a vital pillar of our healthcare team. In her own time, Rachel loves music, film, and painting.

Helen

Helen is part of the Practice’s administrative team. Always calm and ever-friendly, Helen brings skill to her role. Local to the area for a number of years, she resides on a farm in Yass with her family.

Ruth

Ruth is the logistics officer at the Practice, as well as pitching in with administrative work from time to time. She has been with the Practice for over a decade, and has always brought warmth and enthusiasm to work throughout. Outside of work, Ruth runs Food Care, a service that assists in providing groceries for those in the community who need them most.

Huxley and Hagrid

Huxley can often be found quietly sleeping in the surgery waiting room. He is gentle and keeps to himself, but welcomes a pat. If a patient is in possession of food, he may approach with a hangdog look – but please note he is never in want of food and in fact eats better than most people. Please don’t be alarmed by his hangdog look in this photo either, he was dreading staff photos as much as the rest of us.

Pictured in Dr Hannah’s arms is Hagrid, the newest member of staff and Huxley’s heir apparent. This puppy is in training to be a professional patient morale booster. So far he is off to a promising start.
